The four photos of the portfolio „Animals“ were
			also shot on Bulls Island/South Carolina/USA.
			The most important aspect for me, concerning
			these images, is the fact that it was these
			“animals”, in the general sense of this term,
			which I “saw”, taking these photos. So looking
			through the viewfinder, having my image I did
			not see a piece of wood, but in this case a cowering
			animal. If the name I gave it in hindsight
			in a completely associative manner does not
			come even close to what others think, that’s
			quite ok, but it is the seeming vivification of this
			dead wood that generates the fascination of
			these images for me. There is an additional
			sculptural aspect, really accidental aspect, but
			none the less this fosters the imagination making
			it look less likely that this is just a piece of
			nature, just sun bleached wood.
