This is an utmost
self-ironic piece. I wrote the following poem at the time too, but it
was published later.
Häutungen
(Desquamations)
Ein Ich das kriecht aus mir
(Annother me that creeps from me)
ein wundes neues Tier
(a wounded newborn animal)
und es macht einfach weiter
(and it just keeps going)
Küßt dir die Hand und stiehlt den Fuß
(Kisses your hand and steals your foot)
trägt fort den Kopf am alten Zopf
(away its carries the head with that old tress)
und klappert mit den Ohren
(and rattles with it's ears)
Fast hätt ich den Verstand
(I almost lost my mind)
an eine Gummiwand
(to a rubber wall)
aus blankem Stahl verloren
(made of shining steel)

These Poets are not defenseless as one can see and creatively
working against everyday life’s pressure, making other worlds out
of the visual bit and pieces of the given one, which hopefully
show something to me and others too, is worth any heart’s blood.
